Yeuni Munoz, a promising Jays prospect, has been discharged from the hospital after sustaining a serious injury.

Days after being stretchered off the field in a single-A contest between the Dunedin Blue Jays and the Clearwater Threshers, Toronto Blue Jays prospect Yeuni Muñoz has been discharged from hospital.

The team provided the update on Tuesday, also mentioning that Muñoz is now in MLB’s concussion protocol.

He appeared to suffer the injury on a slide into second base that resulted in a lengthy delay as trainers tended to the situation.

The contest was eventually called off with Dunedin leading by one in the bottom of the fifth inning. The team would later send an update on Muñoz via X (formerly Twitter), saying he was in stable condition and undergoing further evaluations at a local hospital.

Muñoz, a native of the Dominican Republic, has played 26 games in single-A this season.
