White denies any scheduled fight between McGregor and White, despite McGregor's claims of being "blown up" by White.

Dana White says he will announce a Conor McGregor fight when the time is right, even if the veteran keeps calling him asking to get on a card.

White announced on Tuesday after the first round of his Challenger Series that McGregor will not fight in 2024.

After White made his comments at the Challenger event, McGregor took to social media begging to fight in December. He later deleted the post.

“Ah Dana, December is the date! Bring the calendar year home with a winning event,” McGregor wrote. “Come on now, what’s this? I am off to altitude next month to prepare. DECEMBER! Tell Dana and UFC WE WANT DECEMBER! WE DESERVE DECEMBER!”

In an interview Wednesday with Sportsnet’s Aaron Bronsteter, White elaborated on his decision.

“You can imagine after I said that Conor was blowing me up,” White said. “When we get to a point where we’re setting a fight and I believe that Conor McGregor fight is going to happen, I will announce it. As of right now, I believe that Conor will not fight this year.

“Conor is saying he wants to fight, he wants to fight in December? We’ll see how it plays out.”

McGregor was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June but had to pull out after injuring his toe during training.

McGregor, 35, has not fought since he broke his leg in a bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July of 2021.

UFC President Dana White has denied any scheduled fight between Conor McGregor and himself, despite McGregor’s recent claims that he was “blown up” by White. The Irish fighter took to social media to express his frustration with White, accusing him of not following through on promises made regarding potential fights.

In a series of tweets, McGregor stated that he had been in talks with White about potential matchups, only to be left feeling disrespected and ignored. He claimed that White had promised him a fight, only to go back on his word and leave him in the dark.

However, White quickly shut down McGregor’s claims, stating that there was never any discussion of a fight between the two of them. He emphasized that McGregor’s accusations were unfounded and that he had no intention of fighting the former two-division champion.

This latest drama between McGregor and White adds to the ongoing tension between the two, with McGregor previously expressing frustration over his lack of fights in recent years. Despite his star power and popularity, McGregor has struggled to secure high-profile matchups in the UFC, leading to speculation about his future in the sport.

As of now, it remains unclear what the future holds for McGregor and whether he will be able to secure the fights he desires. With White denying any scheduled fight between them, it seems that McGregor will have to look elsewhere for his next opponent. Only time will tell if these two will ever step into the octagon together.
