UFC Reportedly Planning Event in Edmonton for November

The UFC could be coming back north of the border in 2024.

Canadian fighter Jasmine Jasudavicius, fresh off a victory over Fatima Kline in last weekend’s UFC Fight Night in Denver, told Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour that the UFC could potentially be coming to Edmonton in November.

“I heard that there is a card coming to Canada in November, that would be awesome,” Jasudavicius said when asked when she plans to fight next.

“I heard it was Edmonton,” Jasudavicius added when asked by Helwani where the card would take place.

Sportsnet’s Aaron Bronsteter also reported Friday that multiple sources have told him the target date for the event is Nov. 2, but that plans have not yet been finalized.

The UFC was last in Canada for UFC 297 in Toronto in January, and the event broke the Canadian live gate record for an arena event.

When he was in Toronto, UFC president Dana White also hinted at a return to the Great White North.

“We’ve got this one under our belt, first time back since COVID, now we’re going to start moving around the whole country. From here to Vancouver,” White said.

When asked if that included a return in 2024, he answered “yes.”

“We don’t have anything solid right now. I think our schedule is done up to, I want to say, July. So August, September, October, November,” White said.

The last time Edmonton hosted a UFC event was in July of 2019 when UFC 240 took place at Rogers Place.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is reportedly planning to hold an event in Edmonton, Alberta in November. This news has sparked excitement among MMA fans in Canada, as it will mark the first time the UFC has held an event in Edmonton since September 2017.

The event is expected to take place at Rogers Place, a state-of-the-art arena that has hosted numerous sporting events and concerts since opening in 2016. With a seating capacity of over 18,000, Rogers Place is an ideal venue for a UFC event, providing fans with a thrilling and immersive experience.

While the fight card for the event has not yet been announced, fans can expect to see some of the biggest names in the sport compete in Edmonton. The UFC always puts on an exciting show, featuring top-ranked fighters from around the world battling it out in the octagon.

In addition to the fights themselves, UFC events are known for their electrifying atmosphere, with fans cheering on their favorite fighters and creating an unforgettable experience for all in attendance.
