Pillar and Goins reflect on fond memories with the Blue Jays

Former Toronto Blue Jays players Kevin Pillar and Ryan Goins recently sat down to reflect on their time with the team and share some of their favorite memories.

Pillar, who played center field for the Blue Jays from 2013 to 2019, spoke about the strong bond he formed with his teammates during his time in Toronto. He fondly remembered the camaraderie in the clubhouse and the support they gave each other both on and off the field.

One of Pillar’s standout moments with the Blue Jays was his incredible catch in 2015, known as “The Superman Catch.” He described the play as a career-defining moment and a highlight of his time with the team.

Goins, who played infield for the Blue Jays from 2013 to 2017, also had plenty of memories to share. He recalled the excitement of playing in front of the passionate Toronto fans and the thrill of competing in the postseason.

One of Goins’ favorite memories was hitting a game-winning home run in the 2015 ALCS against the Kansas City Royals. He described the feeling of rounding the bases and seeing his teammates waiting for him at home plate as one of the best moments of his career.

Both Pillar and Goins expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play for the Blue Jays and the impact it had on their lives. They credited the organization for helping them grow as players and individuals, and spoke highly of the fans who supported them throughout their time in Toronto.

As they continue their careers with other teams, Pillar and Goins will always hold a special place in their hearts for the Blue Jays and the memories they created during their time with the team. Their reflections serve as a reminder of the lasting impact that sports can have on both players and fans alike.
