    Orioles Trade Connor Norby and Kyle Stowers to Marlins for Trevor Rogers

    The Baltimore Orioles have added another pitcher ahead of the trade deadline.

    According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Orioles acquired left-handed starting pitcher Trevor Rogers from the Miami Marlins in exchange for infielder Connor Norby.

    Additional reporting from The Miami Herald‘s Craig Mish has outfielder Kyle Stowers also heading to Miami in the trade.

    Rogers, a 26-year-old southpaw, was an All-Star and the runner-up for NL Rookie of the Year in 2021. In his debut season, Rogers posted a 2.64 ERA and struck out 157 hitters over 133 innings.

    Rogers has pitched in parts of five major-league seasons since being selected in the first round of the 2017 draft by Miami. Over that time, he has racked up 391.1 innings, a 4.23 ERA, 406 strikeouts and 156 walks.

    The six-foot-five Rogers has two more seasons of team control following the 2024 campaign. He is arbitration-eligible in 2025 and 2026.

    Rogers has struggled staying healthy since breaking into the majors. In 2023, he pitched just 18 innings due to shoulder and biceps injuries.

    Norby, 24, was ranked as Baltimore’s No. 7 prospect by Baseball America in a mid-season update and made his MLB debut with the team this season.

    In nine MLB games, he has hit two home runs and slashed .188/.188/.406. However, in triple-A, he slashed .297/.389/.519 with 16 home runs over 80 games.

    Stowers, 26, made his MLB debut in 2022 and has been up and down between the major-league team and the minors over the past three seasons.

    In 19 games with the Orioles in 2024, the left-handed-hitting outfielder owns a .797 OPS and one home run.
