Nolan Foote signs one-year contract with New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils re-signed forward Nolan Foote to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Monday.

The deal is worth $825,000 at the NHL level and $150,000 ($200,000 guaranteed) in the American Hockey League.

Foote, who was a restricted free agent, missed most of last season due to a back injury. He had one goal in four games with the Devils plus three goals and one assist in four games with the AHL’s Utica Comets.

Foote was drafted in the first round, 27th overall, by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2019 but never suited up with the club. He was traded to the Devils in February 2020 along with a first-round pick for Blake Coleman.

The 23-year-old Foote has six goals and two assists in 23 career games over four seasons with the Devils.

He is the son of former NHL defenceman Adam Foote.

The New Jersey Devils have made a significant addition to their roster with the signing of Nolan Foote to a one-year contract. Foote, a highly-touted prospect, brings a wealth of talent and potential to the Devils organization.

Foote, a 20-year-old forward, was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round of the 2019 NHL Draft. He has spent the past few seasons developing his game in the AHL and has shown great promise as a goal scorer and playmaker.

The Devils are excited to add Foote to their young and talented roster, as they look to build towards a successful future. With his size, skill, and hockey IQ, Foote has the potential to make an immediate impact at the NHL level.

Foote comes from a hockey family, as his father, Adam Foote, had a successful career in the NHL as a defenseman. Nolan has been able to learn from his father’s experience and has used it to help him develop into the player he is today.

The signing of Foote is a sign that the Devils are committed to building a competitive team for the future. With a strong core of young players and now the addition of Foote, the Devils are poised to make some noise in the NHL in the coming seasons.

Fans of the New Jersey Devils should be excited about the addition of Nolan Foote to their team. His talent and potential make him a valuable asset for the organization, and he will undoubtedly be a player to watch as he continues to develop and grow in the NHL.
