After a hectic day for the Baltimore Orioles, and with the trade deadline come and gone, they continued to make moves.

This time, it was bringing MLB’s No. 1 overall prospect Jackson Holliday back to the majors once more for his second big-league stint.

Andy Kostka of the Baltimore Banner was the first to report the news.

With the O’s No. 7 prospect Connor Norby being sent to Miami in a trade earlier on Tuesday, Holliday was subsequently scratched from the triple-A Norfolk Tide lineup. Reportedly on his way to Camden Yards, he will likely help the team fill its gap at second base.

Holliday, the first overall selection in the 2022 draft, climbed the rankings quickly but was sent back to Norfolk earlier this year as his first visit to the pros didn’t go as planned. The 20-year-old was originally called up shortly after opening day and made his debut on April 10. He went on to appear in 10 games for the Orioles where he struggled, connecting on an abysmal 2-for-34 at the plate.

In the minors, Holliday has totalled a .271 batting average with 10 home runs, 38 RBI and a .908 OPS with the Tide this season.

It’s possible that Holliday will slot into the Orioles’ lineup for their series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday. You can watch the game on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ starting at 12:35 p.m. ET / 9:35 a.m. PT.

The Baltimore Orioles have made a significant move by calling up top prospect Jackson Holliday for the second time this year. The young outfielder has been turning heads in the minor leagues with his impressive performance, and it seems like the Orioles are ready to give him another shot at the big leagues.

Holliday, who was drafted by the Orioles in the first round of the 2020 MLB Draft, has been making a name for himself with his exceptional hitting and fielding skills. In his first stint with the Orioles earlier this season, he showed flashes of his potential by hitting .300 with three home runs and eight RBIs in just 15 games.

With the Orioles currently in a rebuilding phase, the addition of Holliday to their roster could provide a much-needed boost to their lineup. His ability to hit for power and average, as well as his strong defensive skills, make him a valuable asset for the team as they look to develop their young talent.

It will be interesting to see how Holliday performs in his second stint with the Orioles and whether he can continue to impress at the major league level. With his talent and potential, he could be a key player for the Orioles in the years to come. Fans of the team will surely be excited to see what he can bring to the table as he joins them once again.
