Jack Drury is staying in Raleigh.
The 24-year-old and the Carolina Hurricanes have agreed on a two-year, $3.45-million contract, settling ahead of arbitration. Drury will earn $1.775 million this upcoming season and $1.675 million in 2025-26, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports.
The five-foot-11 forward is coming off his best season of his young career with the Hurricanes in 2023-24. It was a season that saw him establish himself as a full-time NHLer as he suited up for 74 games while totalling eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points. He went on to add a goal and four assists in 11 playoff games.
The New York native was a second-round draft pick by Carolina in the 2018 NHL Draft. After an NHL debut in 2021-22 that saw him score two goals in two games, he has gone on to suit up for 114 NHL games, totalling 37 points, adding 76 points through 105 AHL games.
The Carolina Hurricanes have reached a two-year deal with forward Jack Drury, avoiding arbitration. The 22-year-old center had a breakout season last year, recording 20 goals and 31 assists in 68 games with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.
Drury, a second-round pick by the Hurricanes in the 2018 NHL Draft, has shown tremendous potential and is seen as a key part of the team’s future. His strong play last season earned him a spot on the AHL All-Rookie Team and he was also named the AHL’s Rookie of the Year.
