Highlights and Schedule for Day 10 of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris

After the usual hectic second weekend of the Olympics, we flip a bunch of sports as the Games enter the final week.

From a Canadian perspective, a couple of smaller (by size) team sports represent some of the highlights on the Monday schedule.

Here’s a look at events to watch, as well as the full event schedule for Day 10.

Linda Morais (wrestling, women’s freestyle 68-kg competition, 9 a.m.)

The Tecumseh, Ont., native won bronze in this division at the 2022 world championships.

Kelsey Mitchell, Lauriane Genest and Sarah Orban (track cycling, women’s team sprint, 11 a.m.)

Mitchell is the reigning Olympic individual sprint champ, while Genest won bronze for Canada in the keirin in 2021.

Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson (women’s beach volleyball round of 16, 12 p.m.)

The Canadians face unbeaten Americans Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss. Humana-Paredes and Wilkerson went 1-2 in the preliminary round and had to win a lucky-loser contest to advance to this stage.

Canadian women’s 3×3 basketball team (semifinal, 12:30 p.m.)

Canada faces Germany after the latter finished first in the preliminary round with a 6-1 record. Germany beat Canada 19-15 in their first meeting.

Andre De Grasse (track and field, men’s 200-m Round 1, 1:55 p.m.)

After bowing out in the 100-metre semifinals, the Canadian star starts the event in which he won Olympic gold three years ago.
