The Toronto Blue Jays have announced that pitcher Ryan Burr will be getting the start against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday. This will mark Burr’s first start of the season, as he has primarily been used out of the bullpen so far.

Burr, 27, was acquired by the Blue Jays in a trade with the Chicago White Sox last season. He has shown promise as a reliever, posting a 3.86 ERA in 21 appearances for Toronto in 2021. However, the Blue Jays are looking to stretch him out as a starter and see what he can do in a longer outing.

Burr has a solid repertoire of pitches, including a mid-90s fastball, a slider, and a changeup. He has shown good command of his pitches and an ability to keep hitters off balance. The Blue Jays are hoping that he can carry over his success from the bullpen to the starting rotation.

Facing the Angels will be a tough test for Burr, as they boast a potent lineup led by superstars Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. However, Burr has shown that he has the stuff to compete at the major league level and the Blue Jays are confident in his abilities.

It will be interesting to see how Burr performs in his first start of the season and if he can solidify his spot in the Blue Jays’ rotation moving forward. Fans will be eagerly watching to see if he can rise to the occasion and help lead the team to victory against the Angels on Thursday.
