Gradey Dick and Jonathan Mogbo will not be playing in the Raptors' Summer League game against the Heat.

Gradey Dick and Jonathan Mogbo will miss their second straight Summer League game on Friday as the Toronto Raptors take on the Miami Heat.

Dick, 20, is out with a right ankle sprain, which he suffered in a game on July 14 against the Denver Nuggets. It wasn’t entirely clear when the injury occurred, but the second-year sharpshooter seemed to land awkwardly on his ankle in the closing seconds of the first half and didn’t return for the second.

Meanwhile, Mogbo, 22, suffered an injury in the same game, leaving play with a back contusion after taking a hard fall in the second half.

The pair missed Wednesday’s 86-76 loss to the Utah Jazz.

Toronto is 2-1 in Summer League action and will run out a starting five of Jamison Battle, Ochai Agbaji, Branden Carlson, Ja’Kobe Walter and Jamal Shead against the Heat.

In a disappointing turn of events for Toronto Raptors fans, Gradey Dick and Jonathan Mogbo will not be suiting up for the team’s Summer League game against the Miami Heat. Both players were expected to make significant contributions to the Raptors’ Summer League squad, but unfortunately, they will be sidelined for this particular matchup.

Gradey Dick, a promising young guard out of Kansas, was selected by the Raptors in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft. Known for his scoring ability and playmaking skills, Dick was expected to showcase his talents in the Summer League and potentially earn a spot on the Raptors’ regular-season roster. However, a minor injury has forced him to sit out of the upcoming game against the Heat.

Jonathan Mogbo, a versatile forward from Nigeria, was also expected to make an impact for the Raptors in the Summer League. Standing at 6’9″ with a wingspan of over 7 feet, Mogbo has the size and athleticism to excel at both ends of the court. Unfortunately, he too will be sidelined for the game against the Heat due to a nagging injury.

While it is certainly disappointing to see Dick and Mogbo miss out on this opportunity to showcase their talents, Raptors fans can take solace in the fact that both players are expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of the regular season. In the meantime, other young prospects on the Raptors’ Summer League roster will have a chance to step up and make an impression in their absence.

As the Raptors continue their preparations for the upcoming season, fans can look forward to seeing Dick and Mogbo back on the court in no time. In the meantime, let’s wish them a speedy recovery and hope for a successful Summer League campaign for the rest of the team.
