Josh Naylor from Canada selected for his first All-Star Game

Mississauga, Ont.’s Josh Naylor is headed to Arlington.

The 27-year-old first baseman was named to the American League All-Star team as a reserve on Sunday night, making him the 24th Canadian-born player to earn a spot at the Midsummer Classic.

Naylor is slashing .243/.319/.498 with a career-high 21 home runs through 83 games for the AL Central-leading Cleveland Guardians, emerging as a force in the middle of their lineup.

He will also join Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as the two Canadian-born players to represent the American League in Texas.
