Kevin Kiermaier of the Blue Jays exits game against Brewers due to right knee contusion

Toronto Blue Jays centre-fielder Kevin Kiermaier was replaced defensively in the seventh inning of Tuesday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers after fouling a ball off the inside of his knee earlier in the contest.

The team later announced he left with a right knee contusion.

In the fourth inning, Kiermaier got a piece of an 88.9 m.p.h cutter from Brewers starter Carlos Rodriguez, directing the ball off his left leg. He went down on the field in obvious pain, forcing a Blue Jays trainer and manager John Schneider out of the dugout to check on the 34-year-old.

Kiermaier was able to stay in the game, laying down a sacrifice bunt later in the at-bat and popping out in the sixth.

Davis Schneider entered the game in Kiermaier’s place in the lineup, playing left field, pushing Daulton Varsho to centre.

Kiermaier entered Tuesday’s game with a .203/.252/.322 slash line and two home runs in 47 games.

Kevin Kiermaier, center fielder for the Toronto Blue Jays, was forced to exit a recent game against the Milwaukee Brewers due to a right knee contusion. The injury occurred during the fourth inning when Kiermaier collided with the outfield wall while attempting to make a catch.

Kiermaier immediately went down in pain and was attended to by the team’s medical staff. After a brief evaluation, it was determined that he had suffered a contusion to his right knee and would need to be removed from the game for further evaluation.

This injury comes at a tough time for Kiermaier and the Blue Jays, as they are currently in the midst of a tight playoff race. Kiermaier has been a key contributor to the team’s success this season, both offensively and defensively, so losing him to injury could have a significant impact on their postseason aspirations.

The extent of Kiermaier’s injury is still unknown at this time, but the team is hopeful that it is not serious and that he will be able to return to action soon. In the meantime, they will need to rely on their depth and versatility to fill the void left by Kiermaier’s absence.

As fans wait for updates on Kiermaier’s condition, they can only hope for the best and trust that he will make a speedy recovery. Injuries are an unfortunate part of sports, but with the right treatment and rehabilitation, Kiermaier should be back on the field in no time, helping the Blue Jays in their quest for a playoff berth.
