Draisaitl maintains focus on playing relaxed despite Bobrovsky's strong performance

Despite Sergei Bobrovsky’s strong performance in goal for the Florida Panthers, Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl remains focused on playing relaxed and sticking to his game plan.

Bobrovsky has been a brick wall in net for the Panthers, posting a .930 save percentage and a 2.15 goals against average in his last five games. His stellar play has helped the Panthers climb to the top of the Atlantic Division standings.

However, Draisaitl is not letting Bobrovsky’s performance rattle him. The reigning Hart Trophy winner knows that he can’t control what the opposing goaltender does, so he is focusing on what he can control – his own play.

“I have a lot of respect for Bobrovsky and what he’s been able to do for the Panthers,” Draisaitl said. “But I can’t let that affect my mindset. I have to stay relaxed, stick to my game plan, and trust that my teammates will create scoring opportunities for me.”

Draisaitl’s approach seems to be working, as he leads the Oilers in scoring with 45 points in 29 games. His chemistry with linemate Connor McDavid has been a major factor in his success, as the two superstars continue to light up the scoreboard night in and night out.

Despite facing a hot goaltender like Bobrovsky, Draisaitl remains confident in his abilities and his team’s ability to generate offense.

“I know Bobrovsky is playing well, but I believe in our team’s ability to create scoring chances,” Draisaitl said. “I just have to focus on getting open, shooting the puck, and making plays. If I stick to that, the goals will come.”

Draisaitl’s calm and composed demeanor in the face of strong goaltending from Bobrovsky is a testament to his mental toughness and maturity as a player. By staying focused on playing relaxed and trusting in his skills, Draisaitl is able to maintain his high level of play regardless of the circumstances.
