Adam Hadwin of Canada is tied for second place, trailing Scottie Scheffler by four shots at the Memorial tournament.

If Adam Hadwin wants to win his second PGA Tour event of his career, the Canadian will have to make up a big gap on world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler on Sunday.

Hadwin is tied for second with Collin Morikawa and Sepp Straka at the Memorial, four shots behind Scheffler entering the final round of the PGA Tour signature event in Dublin, Ohio.

The Abbotsford, B.C. golfer was three behind Scheffler heading into the third round, and got things all square after Scheffler triple-bogeyed the par-4 ninth.

But Scheffler responded with three birdies on the back nine, while Hadwin had a costly double-bogey on No. 14 at the Jack Nicklaus-hosted tournament.

Scheffler is at 10 under after shooting a 1-under 71 on Saturday. Hadwin had a 71.

Even if Hadwin can’t win, a second-place finish would be huge in his bid for an Olympic spot.

Hadwin is 59th in the world golf rankings, making him third among Canadians behind Nick Taylor (30th) and Corey Conners (45th). The top two after next week’s U.S. Open qualify for the Paris Games.
