Confirmation of Mbappe's transfer to Real Madrid anticipated on Monday

CLAIREFONTAINE, France — Star striker Kylian Mbappé’s widely expected move to Real Madrid looked set to be announced later Monday.

The France captain was asked about his future by France President Emmanuel Macron at the national team’s Clairefontaine training camp on Monday.

After shaking Mbappé’s hand, Macron then eagerly asked “Is it being announced today?”

Mbappé nodded his head and replied “Yes, yes, this evening.”

Macron and Mbappé both laughed before the president patted Mbappé on the left shoulder and said “That’s good.”

Although Madrid was not mentioned during their conversation, multiple reports have said he will join the record 15-time Champions League winner.

Mbappé officially announced his departure from French champion Paris Saint-Germain last month, having already informed the club in February. He joined PSG in 2017 in a deal worth 180 million euros ($195 million) and scored a club record 256 goals.

He will lead two-time winner France at the June 14-July 14 European Championship.

After weeks of speculation and anticipation, it appears that Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid is finally set to be confirmed on Monday. The French forward has been linked with a move to the Spanish giants for some time now, and it seems that the deal is now all but complete.

Mbappe, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain, is widely regarded as one of the most talented young players in world football. His pace, skill, and eye for goal have made him a sought-after commodity, with many of Europe’s top clubs vying for his signature.

Real Madrid have long been considered frontrunners in the race to sign Mbappe, and it now looks like their persistence has paid off. Reports suggest that a deal worth around €180 million has been agreed between the two clubs, making Mbappe one of the most expensive players in history.

The 22-year-old is expected to sign a long-term contract with Real Madrid, where he will join a star-studded lineup that already includes the likes of Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, and Vinicius Junior. His arrival is sure to bolster an already formidable attack and provide manager Carlo Ancelotti with even more options going forward.

Fans of both Real Madrid and Mbappe will no doubt be eagerly awaiting the official confirmation of the transfer on Monday. It marks the end of a long and drawn-out saga, but for many, it will be well worth the wait to see one of the game’s brightest talents don the famous white shirt of Los Blancos.
