McLeod out of Oilers lineup for Game 3, Henrique returns

The Edmonton Oilers are making a slight change to their lineup ahead of Game 3 of the Western Conference Final.

Head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters Monday that Adam Henrique will be back in the lineup as Ryan McLeod draws out.

According to the coach, it is a “reset” for the team and McLeod will be back “sooner than later.”

The series is currently tied 1-1 as it heads to Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Henrique, 34, has not played since Game 2 of the Oilers’ second-round series against the Vancouver Canucks due to an ankle injury. In the six playoff games he has appeared in, Henrique has recorded one goal and one assist.

Meanwhile, McLeod, 24, has played in every game so far this post-season. Across 14 appearances, McLeod has yet to record a single point.

The Edmonton Oilers will be without defenseman Cody McLeod for Game 3 of their first-round playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks. McLeod, who was acquired by the Oilers at the trade deadline, has been a physical presence for the team in the postseason, but will be sidelined with an undisclosed injury.

In McLeod’s absence, the Oilers will be looking to veteran defenseman Adam Larsson to step up and fill the void on the blue line. Larsson has been a key contributor for the Oilers this season, and his experience and leadership will be crucial as they look to take a 2-1 series lead over the Ducks.

On the offensive side of the puck, the Oilers will be getting a boost with the return of center Adam Henrique. Henrique missed Game 2 with an upper-body injury, but is expected to be back in the lineup for Game 3. Henrique has been a key player for the Oilers this season, and his presence will provide a much-needed spark for the team as they look to take control of the series.

Overall, the absence of McLeod is a blow to the Oilers’ lineup, but with players like Larsson and Henrique stepping up, they have the depth and talent to overcome his loss and come out on top in Game 3. Fans can expect an intense and competitive matchup as the Oilers look to take a series lead over the Ducks.
